Front Cover Photo

This is the image i used for my front cover. I think this is a great show and i really like the angle, the lead singer at the front and rest behind in a triangle shape. I like all of their outfits they are wearing as i think they give signs of the 'indie' look. The lead singers jacket works very well as it draws peoples attention in to look at the page. Im glad i went for a white background because it does not make the picture look clumsy and it has left room for me to add different sub headings without it ruining the picture. I have also left room at the top of the shot for the name of the music magazine which is 'Indie-pendant'.

Fonts
This is the first font that caught my eye when researching fonts for my music magazine name. I liked this one as i think it represents my 'indie/alternative' genre as it is quite a scribbled and messy font but at the same time you can read what it says. I like how each letter seems to be in its old box, like a news paper cutting.
Location of Props
Front cover: a plain background as there are 5 people involved in shot, so do not want the shot to be over-complex, probably a white background.
Contents page: I think i am going to take the shot of the band playing live, so will be at a gig or festival.
Feature article: May take a shot of them writing songs in a studio, one stage preforming and maybe one shot of the band posing for the photo.
Costume and Props list
Front Cover:
Leather Jackets, main protagonist wear a striking jacket, plain skinny jeans, plain tshirts. I don't think i am going to use any props for this shot.
Contents: Plain jeans and a fitted tshirt, maybe a guitar for a prop
Feature Article: Leather jacket, fitted t-shirt, black jeans, Blue jeans. Guitar and microphone maybe being used as props.
These are just some of the ideas i have for my shots, and when i actually come to taking my photos they may alter slightly if i find that the costumes/props dont work very well.

Music Videos
This music video is 'The View- 5 Rebeccas' and it shows the tour of the band The View. I think this is a great music video to gain inspiration and ideas from for my music video as it shows the whole lifestyle of bands in the 'Indie/Alternative' genre. It shows the kinds of festivals they play, backstage footage of how they act and also the way in which they dress. A good thing i can gain from watching this video is it shows the kind of audience that support the band and watch them, this is great when deciding my target audience. This music video really gives you an insight into bands life styles off stage and this can help me when i talk about them in my magazine and article. It also really shows off their bad boy images which is a key esential in this specific genre. This video also shows the dedication to music when the band are playing and shows the 'rock and roll' image of the band, showing their guitars and jumping around on stage.
This video is 'The Paddingtons- stand down' showing the band on stage and also off stage. I have chosen this video as i really think it catches the whole lifestyle of a typical British indie band. The music video shows the band also backstage which really gives us in a sinsight into what bands are like behind closed doors. In this musc video, it shows the typical clothes and behaviour of the band, this is important for my research as this band are similar to the one featured in my magazine. I can style the featured band by getting inspiration from The Paddingtons styles. This video will also inspire my image of the band such as the way they should pose and the expressions they should portray. One feature of this video that can inpsire my magazine is the whole 'rock and roll' life the band seem to live. My music magazine is based around the whole British 'rock and roll' culture that is seen is the 'indie/alternative' genre.
